- Can be very slow
Virtual Villagers - The Tree of Life is a real time, casual sim and the fourth installment in the Virtual Villagers series.
The game starts with a brief story recap - after a volcanic eruption, a group of villagers are sent into Isola island to make a new settlement. You can choose your five new settlers from a large selection, all having different skills and likes.
In your new village, you have to keep your settlers alive, while developing their skills and increasing their numbers. As well as managing resources and increasing your villagers abilities, various puzzles will need to be solved as the game goes on.
An unusual feature of Virtual Villagers - The Tree of Life is that time still moves on when you're not playing (unless you choose to stop playing). Stay away too long and you may lose all your hard work, yet on the other hand you can use this to avoid waiting for tasks like building to be completed.
There is nothing hurried about this game, but it is compelling. For people who like the idea of The Sims, but simply don't want to invest the time and effort, Virtual Villagers is ideal. Although it still requires an investment of time, it's really easy to play and ideal for newcomers and children alike.
Virtual Villagers - The Tree of Life is a cheerful and fun casual sim game, with bright clear graphics and easy to get into gameplay, ideal for people who've never played a sim game before.
